set size: 189 cards (before Secret Rares)

Set Abbreviation: ASR

Below is a list of cards that will comprise our tenth Sword & Shield set, Astral Radiance, when it releases 27 May 2022. The set will be legal for tournament play 10 June 2022.

Because of the high number of cards from the Japanese sets that serve as the source for this set, approximately 62 cards (before secret rares) will be cut from this set and appear instead in a future release. Cards with numbers in [] Brackets beside them have confirmed collector numbers and are confirmed to be part of Astral Radiance

Trainer Gallery Subset

The set description for Astral Radiance mentions that it contains “a special Trainer Gallery subset of 30 cards with artwork featuring fan-favorite Trainers and Pokémon.” However, with the high number of Character Rare (CHR) and Character Super Rare (CSR) cards still remaining, even with this second Trainer Gallery, not all of the remaining special cards from VMAX Climax will appear in Astral Radiance. New CHR/CSR cards from Battle Region may or may not make this set. To see images for the cards below that will be included in this and in future Trainer Galleries, see the Trainer Galleries article.

CARDS INTENTIONALLY EXCLUDED FROM LIST

The cards below may appear as promo cards or may see their release in some other way.

Other set details

Astral Radiance is comprised of cards from the twin Japanese sets Time Gazer and Space Juggler (8 April 2022, 67 cards each). Some cards from the Lucario VSTAR and Darkrai VSTAR Starter Sets (25 February 2022, approximately 14 new cards) also make an appearance in the set, as do many cards from the Japanese set Battle Region (25 February 2022, 67 cards before secret rares).

Note that for this set, the press release and the official set page originally contradicted one another in terms of card count for Pokémon V and Pokémon VSTAR. The press release said 8 Pokémon VSTAR and 21 Pokémon V, whereas the set page said 7 Pokémon VSTAR and 19 Pokémon V. It appears that one was counting non-base rarities in its total, like alternate or full arts.
